OUR COMMUNITY
PARTNERS

As a member of the community, you can make a difference for students and employers across Indiana and beyond. By becoming a mentor or getting involved in college and career initiatives in your community, you directly influence students right here in Indiana—with results that you can see.

BECOME A MENTOR

College mentors can make a vast difference in the life of a college-bound high school student. A mentor can help a student figure out what their dream is, and could be the person a student looks back on as the most important in helping them achieve their education. The power of mentoring lies in providing young people a consistent and caring guide who will help them achieve their dreams.

With a mentor, kids are more likely to graduate from high school. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America reports students who regularly meet with mentors are 52% less likely to skip school. By becoming involved in students’ lives, you help them develop positive attitudes toward school, resulting in a rise in the college-educated workforce. In fact, the Starfish Initiative program in Indianapolis saw 80% of their first class of graduates enroll in college.

MENTOR PROGRAM LISTS

The following organizations offer mentorship opportunities throughout Indiana:

Communities in Schools of Lake county
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana

PARTNERS

Indiana’s teachers and educators are some of the most important figures in a students’ life. The influence of our education partners is invaluable as they help communicate critical information to help students and families navigate education and training options after high school. Learn More Indiana works to connect educators to resources to help in this pursuit.
