Branches of the Military
Army
The largest and oldest service in the U.S. military, the Army provides the ground forces that protect the United States.

Marine Corps
A component of the Department of the Navy, the Marine Corps maintains amphibious and ground units for contingency and operation.

Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs allow college students interested in enlisting in the military to become an officer upon graduation. ROTC programs also provide leadership training, scholarships, tuition assistance, and professional development opportunities. The Collegiate Purple Star of Indiana (CPSI) recognizes an eligible postsecondary institution that has successfully demonstrated a supportive environment for its United States military-affiliated student population from application to graduation.
The postsecondary institutions recognized successfully demonstrate a commitment to excellence by serving military-affiliated students in Indiana through one of three levels of service. The colleges are scored in 37 standards across 8 categories.Ā
Campuses that received CPSI recognition are identified below with their awarded tier level, with Tier 1 meeting 90% of the criteria, Tier 2 meeting 80% of the criteria, and Tier 3 meeting 70% of the criteria.Ā Ā
